Don't eat this, don't eat that!

Our world is totally contaminated.
Our foods -- all of them -- have toxins in them on them. Even the
organic foods are contaminated, because the soil is contaminated, and the water.
Organic veggies have antibiotics in them, and how do you think it got
there? Fertilizer from cows with growth hormones and antibiotics
produces plants with antibiotics in them. Even if the farmer gets organic raised cow poop for his garden, farms upstream have

runoff, rivers have sewer
dumps, and the rain falls on farms and cities, and the runoff from chemical-contaminated rains fill the rivers and water the fields.
The food containers, air, water, all these are infused with chemicals and
pollutants and they are inside us too. Each of us carries a heavy "chemical load" before
we are even born. None of us are "pure" and chemical free.
You can try to eliminate some of the toxins from your life, but it's
futile. For poor folks it's almost impossible. Stress kills, bad
food, sugar, sucrose, mercury in vaccines ... We are seeing three-headed
toads and other animal mutations, fish are changing sex. I know the wild
animals eat organic foods and don't shop at supermarkets or drink Coke,
yet they are mutating. What happens to them is going to be happening to
us.
Why do we hear so much about

in the media? Could they be softening us up to a future with mutant
kids? Mutant kids offer a profitable futures for corporations -- all
those health problems, and desperate parents willing to do pay anything
to save their poor suffering baby. $$Ka Ching!!$$
We have detectable levels of Valium and amphetamines in our drinking
water now. Think about that. It's ghastly, unacceptable, and inescapable.
Teflon plastic containers for organic veggies, stay away from meat (mad cow,
bird flu, etc.), buy an air purifier, don't eat fish, don't
eat sugar, don't eat high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, or Splenda. There's lead in crayons, PCB's in everything, out gassing
carpets, allergens, don't eat non-organic fruits, don't eat ..., don't use ..., don't, don't, don't, don't ...
Eventually, people will have to realize that everything's
contaminated. Everything. There's no avoiding having to exist in a
polluted, overtaxed, sick, dying world and feeling the effects of
countless people's wastes and unrestrained "progress," consuming, and
stress. You can't stop it, any more than you can stop a tidal wave by
holding your hands up and bracing yourself.
We are all going to die. If not from old age, it will be from something
else. The animals will die, because they live with us in this polluted world.
For me the answer is to not fret every waking moment over what I eat or
don't eat. As for "food safety," in this age that is a relative
term, so be reasonable but not phobic.
I will die. My quality of life will
go downhill, because decay, entropy, and dissolution is the pattern of
what life over time becomes in this world.
I can preoccupy myself endlessly questioning which additives, allergens,
foods, or chemicals hurt me the most, and avoid them.
You can find out what hurts you the most, and avoid that. When it changes avoid the
new irritants. It's endless paranoia for you and endless profits for
certain markets. Remember the story of the company that made carcinogenic
chemicals in pesticides that also made cancer medicines?
Eventually there will be no refuge on Earth that is contaminant-free, no
escape from this pollution. For we all have to eat, breathe, drink, and
exist until our time is up.
The world is dying and it is far past the time for us to
do anything to save it. Please wake up.
My sister is vegetarian. She seeks out only organic cotton clothes, and she is
a clean-living advocate out the wazoo -- she doesn't even use
ketchup. She tells me chemical and contamination nightmares that would
make the organic, healthy-living crowd want to go live in a bubble suit
and never eat or breathe again. She is a safety officer who inspects
food, restaurants, and other products for the state's requirements for
public safety. She is scared shit-less about all this stuff, and stressed
out accordingly. She is killing her health with the stress of trying to
stay healthy, in a world in obvious decline. She is fighting a good fight,
and still she is dying and trying.
Chemicals are everywhere. Almost all of them are toxic one way or another to
the living. We all exist in a chemical and contaminant stew called
Earth.
Every year something like 50,000 new chemicals are OK'd for
chemical companies to manufacture and spew into this world. Most people
never know what these chemicals are or what they can do to living beings in the
long term or short term. No-one understands how these new chemicals
will effect the already chemically infused environment fully -- not even
the people who make the shit and sell it know this sometimes. Labs are
not like real-life conditions, really. They are too contamination free to
tell the story honestly.
Genetically-modified foods will proliferate the shelves, whether we want
them to or not. Companies can slip in genetically-modified food in the
grocery store, in pet foods, or release pollutants into the environment and
lie about it and no one would be the wiser until the crops won't grow
one year.. And by than it's too late to do anything. You have to buy seed
from Monsanto or go without food. Gotcha!
Eventually, when someone complains that they ate an apple that made
them sick, there will be no way to prove it indisputably, because
the corporate pigs can point out that there's already be a ton of aggravating
allergens and contaminants in every home, on every corner of the Earth. The fertilizer may not have been washed off, or maybe that apple
tree has been exposed to chemical runoff from that pig farm five miles
upstream.
The suit will be moot with the new tort reform. Too costly to tease out what
exactly caused the person's reaction, from the environment that is
already making us sick, and isolate the offending apple from the
lead, mercury, PCBs and whatnot to prove it was the genetically modified
apple that did it by itself.
We all carry a chemical load now. Most
people have over 100 detectable levels of different heavy metals and
industrial chemicals inside us right now. In our blood. In our lungs. In
our flesh.
Even if we stopped the chemical companies overnight, shut them all down, and
stopped driving, stopped eating their mass-produced products, and voluntarily went back to stone-age living or
just killed ourselves off, it would not stop the slow death of this
world. The damage has been done. The damage comes from beyond us, and it
uses us.
And a worldwide flood and ice age will not erase the damage. Some of
these contaminants have shelf lives for THOUSANDS of years. The
chemical companies don't know when or how or even if they "break down."
Never before on this world has the air, land, and sea been so filled with
unnatural contaminants. This is how a world
ends -- death by chemical excess and terminal madness, that looks so damn
normal.
Hug your kids (if you have them) or hug your pets, and realize there is no
going back to the way things were. This is the beginning of the end.
What comes next? I don't know, but I guess we will find out when we find
out. We are not in control, and we never were in control. We just like to
pretend we are.
It's time to stop pretending. There are things more important
to attend to than your own or this world's survival, and those things are inside us.
