The road map to war in the Middle East

The Bush regime and their counterparts in Tel Aviv are determined to
pull Syria, and especially Iran, into a new Mideast conflict.
The lightly-armed Hezbollah Shiite militia, with perhaps no more than 20,000
fighters, have become the scapegoats to justify a new round of US and
Israeli aggression. But despite Israeli propaganda, the Hezbollah obviously does not
constitute a serious threat to the existence of the State of Israel. The

only offensive weapons which Hezbollah possesses are tactical battlefield
rockets based on the WW II Soviet Katyusha. The standard Hezbollah rocket
has a small warhead and a range of about 20 miles. The improved model has
about double the range.
Not being precision-guided weapons, the majority
of the Hezbollah rockets fired miss their intended targets altogether. Although these
rockets do pose a threat to Israeli cities and settlements, their small
warheads lack the explosive punch necessary to cause large numbers of
civilian casualties or heavy damage to infrastructure.
On the other hand,
the Israeli Defense Forces are lavishly equipped with the most
sophisticated high-tech weapons and munitions the US taxpayer can buy.
US-made Israeli F15 and F16 fighter bombers, un-opposed, are delivering
lethal combinations of laser guided munitions on Lebanon's cities,
villages, highways, bridges, power plants, broadcast towers, and other critical
infrastructure, reducing them to rubble.
On the ground, the Israeli Army
has deployed a force far out of proportion to any threat it faces. For
weeks, massed Israeli heavy artillery has been ceaselessly shelling towns
and villages in southern Lebanon, while Israeli armor and infantry have
crossed the border at will to assault Hezbollah strongholds. The heavy
Israeli attacks have already killed and wounded many hundreds of Lebanese civilians,
50 of which were killed in the village of Qana alone. Israeli
civilian casualties have been light, testimony to the disparity in
military hardware between the combatants.
It is hard to believe that this
powerful Israeli offensive is in response to a few
Israeli soldiers being captured by Hezbollah. Such incidents have happened
numerous times in the past, and have almost always been resolved by
prisoner exchanges.
What is unfolding in Lebanon is an
attempt by the war criminals in Washington

What is unfolding in Lebanon is an attempt by the war criminals in Washington and Tel Aviv to draw Syria and Iran into an expanded war.
To those who are aware of the agenda of the Project for the New American Century, to which the Bush regime is committed to, it is no surprise that Israel is attacking Hezbollah, who have close ties to "axis of evil" member Iran.
By having the Zionists attack Hezbollah, the Bush regime is hoping Syria and Iran will openly come to their aid and attack Israel.
An attack upon Israel by either Syria or Iran would justify American military intervention in support of Israel and jump-start the US war effort presently bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A new war would not only prop up the political fortunes
of Bush, but also that of the Republican Party, which faces the prospect
of losing big in the coming election. And a new war against Syria and Iran,
if successful, would give Israel hegemony over its Islamic neighbors,
and secure for corporate America the huge oil reserves of the Mideast.
However, should Damascus and Tehran take the bait, giving Bush and the
Zionists their war, success may be just as elusive in this new endeavor
as it has been in Iraq with the consequences much worse.
