Five years of lies and stupidity since 'the world changed' on 9/11

The five year anniversary of September 11 is fast
approaching. Now is the time, before the propaganda blitz
begins, to think clearly about those five years and what has
come to pass.

I was one of those who opposed the war in Afghanistan, which
Bush began almost immediately after the attacks in America.
I felt, as did a tiny minority, that the matter of terrorism
should be dealt with as a matter of law enforcement, not
war. But even now many "anti-war" opponents of the Bush Regime
point to Afghanistan as a "just war," and use it as an
example to instruct us about why the Iraq war is wrong.
Osama bin Laden is still on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, the number of anti-America guerrillas (AKA
"terrorists") who have taken up arms against America has
grown, and Bush's "America," Land of the Freedom Fries and
Home of the Brave, is reviled by the world.
Not to mention the fact that the
|
|
| US government has
squandered at least $500 billion and is no closer to ending
their wars than when they began!
In fact, the liberation of Afghanistan has turned out to be as
phony as George Bush's compassion. The Afghan resistance movement
is gathering power, and in a mere decade or
two the "freedom fighters" there, the "Mujahadeen" as we
called them when they were battling Soviet occupiers, will
likely evict US/NATO forces.
"They" are getting stronger and we are going bankrupt.
If George Bush's ten-gallon cowboy hat contained a teaspoon
of brains, on September 11, 2001 he would have rounded up a
posse of lawmen, hunted down the criminals responsible and
brought them back to Dodge City for a fair trial and hangin'.
But justice was not to be...
And so, to this day, we Americans are not really sure how many crimes
were committed on September 11, 2001. Our government rushed
off to the wars they wanted to have, instead of investigating
the crimes they had.
Imagine a bank robbery at the biggest, richest bank in New
York City. And imagine that the bank guards either called in
sick on the day of the crime or didn't have any bullets in
their guns. And imagine please, that for one-and-a-half
hours after the bank alarms sounded the NYPD failed to show
up at the scene while the robbers carefully looted the
safety deposit boxes, cleaned out the vault and murdered the
bank customers and employees.
What kind of criminal investigation would occur? Would
sheriff Howdy Doody be interested in just the masked men and
their relatives? Or would the sheriff be just a mite curious
about why there warn't no lawmen doing their duty during
the robbery?
And what would the government and politicians do about the
banks? Would they declare a War on Crime, and require that all future bank customers be screened, and maybe strip-searched before making their deposits or withdrawals?
I think not.
And that's the end of my story today because I'm sure you've
heard enough bullshit during the last five years to last a
lifetime, and you'd rather not hear even one more word
about horses' asses like George Bush and his posse
of retarded tenderfoot clowns in Washington DC.
Have a good one. Happy trails, pardner!
