Please visualize our human world, the entire complex of ethnicity,
society, economy, as a very, very large ship.
Further, imagine a
struggle underway between ourselves and the forces that have been
steering our ship toward catastrophe.
Even if we were to take back
the control of the

rudder and succeed in forcing it far over in a
positive direction, all that would be sensed at the moment would be a
very slight deviation of angle at the horizon. Unnoticed if not
looked for.
In fact, any plausible imagined struggle that we were
winning would result in a series of slightly positive, as well as
slightly negative deviations that summed positive over time. It is
understandable under this metaphor that much controversy would exist
over the nature of that sum, even for those paying attention.
At
some time, well after the initial tentative change in angular
momentum, the positive curve of the wake would resolve these
conflicts. However, at the very beginning of persistent change it is
likely that the vast majority would remain unaware.

I had the pleasure of voting for Jon Tester by absentee ballot. One
of only 2,644 people (Jon Tester: 198,200 Conrad Burns: 195,556)
credited with securing the Senate for the Democrats.
I am registered
Green. I really don't care much about Tester's politics. What I care
about is the collective message of resistance to the status quo.
I
would be very, very (pleasantly) surprised if we humans were to
liberate ourselves via the ballot box, but I am convinced that the
path is in the direction of collective message delivery generally.
So, that was fun. How about let's do it again with something new.
Synchronized toilet flushing anyone? Flush at noon for yes, one o'clock for
no. Ballot questions?
