Another open letter to the Democrats in Congress:
What are you waiting for? It doesn't get any better than this.

This president has lost the support of the people. He is openly
contemptuous of the Constitution. He is an out-front criminal.
Impeach him
already. We will back you.
You may spend too much time listening to insiders and pundits. Here
in the
heartland, I hear the voices of the people and we HATE this war and
our
arrogant president.
|
My 90-year old neighbor, a lifelong Republican,
wants
impeachment. The blue-collar fag-haters down at the gun club hate
him. The
blue-haired retirees down at the bingo parlor hate him. Even the
slick
yuppies down at the wine bar hate him. Every American with two brain
cells
to rub together hates him. He has used our goodwill, our money, and
our
blood like a crack whore gone wild.

The only Americans who still support the guy are the fundie
delusionals who
believe the earth is 6,000 years old, and even they are beginning to
doubt.
Will you stand up already and do your duty?
We want our liberties back -- habeas corpus, freedom from search,
seizure, et
al. We want the odious Patriot Act to be repealed. We want to not
be
arrested for wearing an anti-Bush t-shirt. We want our sports drinks
back,
fer crissakes! And most of all, we want this war over -- NOW. Here's
a clue:
any Democratic candidate who will stand up and clearly state that
this war
was an illegal, misconceived crime from the start will win. We are
desperate for some real leadership (Go Jim Webb!).
This administration has been dirty from day one, when it used illegal
voter
purges (Florida) and a bloody "one time only" Supreme Court decision
that
stinks to high heaven to get itself appointed (NOT elected). In 2004
voter
intimidation and outright vote fraud in Ohio and New Mexico handed
these
criminals another election. They lie, cheat, steal on a scale that
would
make Nixon cringe in shame. You need to stand up and clean house.

The Downing street memo proves Bush lied us into war. Spending half
a
trillion dollars while our countrymen don't have basic healthcare is
criminal. Shedding the blood of innocents abroad is surely the
epitome of
"high crimes and treason." And carelessly wasting the lives of
honest
American servicemen (to say nothing of the pain to their shattered
families)
is beyond forgiveness. And all for what? So oil billionaires can
become
richer? So defense contractors can continue to fatten themselves on
the
lifeblood of our people? No-bid contracts to Halliburton? Are you
kidding?
These bastards don't even have the decency to try to hide their
crimes. And
YOU are letting it happen!
What are you waiting for? Stand up and do your duty. Even if you Democrats are
only
marginally more honest than the Republicans, you will be seen as
heroes,
here and around the world. You have everything to gain and nothing
to lose.
We don't believe these liars anymore. We want NEW liars. Just
think,
after you bring them down, you can get away with anything…
