I am a first time reader of your comments.
I am furious that we got so suckered into this BS with Iraq when 9/11 was still fresh in our minds.
I started to believe there was something wrong after Tora Bora but back then I couldn't put my finger on it.
We all wanted to believe back then that the US was doing the right thing.
But no, we were schmucks

It is difficult to discover that one's cherished ideals are less than true. We were all inculcated with the mythos of America the Beautiful. But she is riddled with vices, not least among them the propensity to shed innocent blood for the profit of a few privileged individuals.
The image of the good troop dies hard. Only tonight I saw deluded people on TV blathering on about how the troops are defending freedom for us. It is not true. They are shedding blood for the corporate masters.
What to do? Daily I talk to people and many say they are fed up... yet not one in 10 will actually take 5 minutes to call their elected representative.
I call mine (a newly-elected Democrat) at least three times a week. I send emails every day to both Senators and congressmen (sometimes from other districts, for example key committee chairmen such as Dennis Kucinich (Internet freedom) and others.
We must exercise every opportunity to exact

change through established legal channels. If only one in 10 of those who hate this war would call or write daily, we would flood their answering machines and email servers to the point of inoperability.
And I keep my gun well oiled and my powder dry. For the Bush cabal have already implemented the steps necessary to use troops against citizens on American soil, by stripping posse comitatus in a slyly-added rider to the Military Commissions Act passed several years ago... The provision eliminating posse comitatus goes into effect this year.
I pray it will never come to that, but we must, as true Americans, and as our founding fathers were, be willing to commit our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to the cause of liberty.
