Arsenic, Bush-Cheney, and hatred
I'm definitely not crazy about them either. But please be careful about feeling hatred too much or too often. It's not good for your health. In general it seems best to try to somehow have fun while working against such awful entities and events. For me, it's sometimes looking at my actions as merry mischief upsetting the king's apple cart. Or looking at things as trying to shield the innocent and helpless from evil or accident, rather than hating the evil itself. Remember that evil feeds on hate and fear and ignorance. Fox News is a veritable fountain of the stuff. Many years ago (roughly 19 apparently) my brother and I had to suddenly gather up all the scarce cash our entire extended family possessed, jump in a car, and drive hundreds of miles to rescue three women from an awful predicament in which they'd put themselves, for no good reason at all. One of the women was a complete stranger. The second was a woman neither of us had ever liked, our entire lives. She was sister to the third. The third was our sister-in-law, who had only given birth to my niece maybe weeks before. Everyone family-wise (but the sister) had begged my sister-in-law not to go. But she wouldn't listen. She even came near to taking the infant with her. So the entire family was angry with her for even going. Then the three got stranded immediately after reaching the far end of their trip. Her husband/my other brother was working that day, and could ill afford to take off for a rescue. Plus, he was mad too. And wanted his wife to suffer some punishment. But my niece needed her momma, and the women had driven my brother's car there-- which apparently there was some sort of debt on, or insurance liabilities, or something (I can't recall those details). But it couldn't be left there, despite being basically a junker. Anyway, me and another brother took on the rescue mission. Mad as hell at all the unnecessary trouble. Somehow we were going to have to get there, FIX the women's car on a SUNDAY of an UNKNOWN problem, and get both them and the car back ASAP, while spending absolutely as little money as possible (no stay in a hotel or hired auto repair help if at all humanly possible). The drive was 5.5 hours one-way. Sheesh! From experience I knew my brother and I were going to be maxed out on the trip even if we were in tip top shape. Starting out mad as hornets was NOT good. So I did my best to make it as fun and easy as possible for us, and thereby massively increased our odds of success. That first leg of the trip was probably the best time my brother ever had with me in his whole life! Ha, ha. We accomplished our task. Getting the women and the car back in less than 24 hours. Spending almost nothing but the gas money. But just barely. If we hadn't changed our attitude at trip's beginning, not only would we have failed, but there may even have been a calamity. Hate is much like fear in how it can hurt your health and performance/productivity. To my mind, the 60s hippies were on the right track about love being the key (I hope to incorporate that theme in future afterlife stories). By the way: my sister-in-law never ever did anything like that again. And turned out to be a decent mother to my niece and nephew. My niece is now 19 years old, and attending college. JR Mooneyham
