Homeland Security, The PATRIOT Act and other “since 9/11” laws have not made me feel safer. They are making me increasingly agoraphobic (fear of leaving home).
When I had to go to the airport they took my belt and buckle, shoes, wallet, wrist watch, keys, Swiss army knife, cell phone and open container.
When I had to go to the jail they took my belt and buckle, shoes, wallet, wrist watch, keys, Swiss army knife, cell phone and open container.
All the accommodations including food, lavatory services and concern for my personal safety were the same at both the airline and jail. Both told me when and where I would be released and allowed me to make a phone call.
I called my lil' sister Kathy who said to tell them you’re Paris Hilton. That didn’t work well.

the jail they gave me a large manila envelope that contained my belt and buckle, shoes, wallet, wrist watch, keys, Swiss army knife, and cell phone. The open container was gone.
When I was released by the airline two days late they gave me a large manila envelope that contained my belt and buckle, shoes, wallet, wrist watch, keys, and cell phone. My Swiss army knife and open container were gone and my watch and cell phone no longer worked after being scanned.
When I left the jail I walked across the street to the police impoundment lot and paid $100 to get my car back.
When I left the airport I was left to my own means to get to the airport I left from. Once there I paid the satellite parking lot $100 to get my car back.
Undaunted, I went to the local 4th of July independence celebration. Security took my new Swiss army knife and now my new watch and cell phone no
longer work after being scanned.
Oh, and my car got towed by local authorities enforcing new Homeland Security regulations. Still looking for it.
