The deeper truth about impeachment
|
by Herb Ruhs, MD, Unknown News
July 28, 2007
Big surprise: The same people who wanted
|
|
|
to impeach Bill Clinton for arguably trivial reasons don't want to impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney for a
vast train of crimes including, but not limited to:
• illegal spying on
citizens,
• violating treaties,
• trashing the Constitution,
• pursuing illegal wars,
• sabotaging of the democratic process,
• covering up their crimes and attacking their political enemies by appointment of political operatives to the Justice Department,
• committing a vast array of international crimes including kidnapping, torture and disappearances of domestic and foreign nationals,
• participating directly in war profiteering,
• turning over the machinery of government to corporations to allow them to pursue illegitimate profits at great cost to the country,
• committing crimes against the civil rights of our citizens,
• abandoning the victims of natural disasters and thereby forcing permanent dislocation of entire domestic populations, all to the benefit of political supporters,
• and committing heinous war crimes against civilian populations.
The real threat involved in impeachment is the implied
threat to expel a bipartisan, parasitic establishment that is growing fat
cannibalizing the country. This criminal establishment is afraid to
let the ball get rolling lest it end up crushing them as well as Bush
and Cheney.
We have the basis for forming a new Constitutional Party to replace
the anti-Constitutional Republican and Democratic parties that are
neither supportive of the Republic nor of the processes of democratic
government.
The current discussion on impeachment is a conflict between those who support a continuation of a
peaceful, lawful, Constitutional, democratic, republican and secular
form of government with equal justice for all, and
those who support a warmongering, lawless, authoritarian,
dictatorial, autocratic and theologically based form of government
with privilege for the few.
This is exactly the same
conflict that resulted in our Revolutionary War. The sides have not
changed in any significant way since the colonist rebelled against
noble privilege and economic exploitation. The Revolution continues.
