A short glimpse at America's future

Yesterday I purchased ten pairs of white tube socks at Target for $7.99. They weren't even made in China. No, they were made in Pakistan! Who knew?
Such incredible savings earned at the expense of untold millions of laid-off American workers. Each year I buy some new socks -- very comfy -- and every other year I also buy some BVDs and T's. So I save, maybe, $10 a year. Wowee!
If job outsourcing, and privatization of water, power, roads and public property continues under the current "free market" D.C. regime, then one day washing clothes will be uneconomical for the average American -- who will at that time likely have a living standard equivalent to that of a person in a Palestinian refugee camp ... but with cable TV.

paper jumpsuits. And our cable TVs will tell us all about the new fall paper-clothing styles; we'll see what kind of paper jumpsuits are "in" this year ... while we munch our government-issued "People Kibble" or granola.
And thanks to the total lack of historical context in news "reporting," most people will be completely unaware that average Americans once wore polyester, cotton or wool clothes. Or maybe there will be a few hippie geezers who still remember Levi Strauss and "jeans" ...
