America's gift to Iraq: Slow motion genocide
|

The United States has perpetrated a massive crime against humanity in Iraq. The situation there continues to devolve so that the word "debacle" is totally inadequate to the task.
What Bush and the Congress are doing in Iraq is guaranteed -- without doubt -- to incur the righteous wrath of Islam and Arab peoples for the next seven generations.

Here is the latest scheme from BushCo: Arm the Sunni militias, de facto death squads to fight Shiites and Al Qaeda in Iraq (previously BushCo was arming the Shiite
death squads to kill Sunnis). Try Googling "wolf brigade" Iraq:
(2005) Profile: Iraq's Wolf Brigade| | Excerpt:
Detractors see it as a Shia Muslim-dominated force set on intimidating the Sunni minority. ...
Sunni Muslims have accused it of kidnapping and killing members of their community, including clerics. |
In other words, the U.S. has been arming both sides in the ongoing civil war, regularly switches sides to maintain a balance of disempowerment, and is directly responsible for death squads who daily carry out tortures and summary executions. The US-backed death squads make Al Qaeda in Iraq look like a debating society.
The humanitarian news is no less alarming.
NCCI & Oxfam -- Rising to the humanitarian challenge in Iraq
| | Excerpt:Up to eight million people are now in need of emergency assistance. ... Forty-three per cent of Iraqis suffer from "absolute poverty". According to some estimates, over half the population are now without work. Children are hit the hardest by the decline in living standards. Child malnutrition rates have risen from 19 per cent before the US-led invasion in 2003 to 28 per cent now. ...
"The number of Iraqis without access to adequate water supplies has risen from 50 per cent to 70 per cent since 2003, while 80 per cent lack effective sanitation. The "brain drain" that Iraq is experiencing is further stretching already inadequate public services, as thousands of medical staff, teachers, water engineers, and other professionals are forced to leave the country. At the end of 2006, perhaps 40 per cent had left already. |
We are seeing a slow motion genocide in Iraq the exceeds in fury, if not duration, the Israeli genocide against Palestinians (still in progress.)
And not only is BushCo arming the Iraqis in their civil war, but it is arming all sides in the Middle East -- except Iran, which Russia is taking care of:
Washington's Orwellian foreign policy maneuver
The idea that all of this destruction requires America to escalate its wars to achieve "victory" is not just wrong, but sad. America is now the main force promoting war and destruction throughout the Middle East and Islamic countries. More than one billion Islamic people occupy Earth, and the Bush administration is busy not just antagonizing them but supplying them advanced weaponry!
And the average American has no clue, understanding neither the human suffering he or she is indirectly responsible for, nor the rising odds that the American Way of Life is at grave risk -- of self-destruction.
In fact, there seems no way that this won't turn out badly for "the Homeland." And Americans who believe that all of this can wait until January 2009 when President Hillary takes command will learn otherwise, in my opinion, to their absolute shock and horror.
And another surprising thing is that the financial news on television is totally consumed with news about mortgages and stocks. I call that myopic. There are far greater risks to our financial safety than what happens on the New York Stock Exchange.
