Diagnosis: Bush is a criminal
What we can do as psychiatrists
is to call a spade a spade

I am a colleague of James Grotstein. Like him, I have practiced psychoanalysis and psychiatry for 40 years. I have written a book etc.

During the first Bush-Gore debate, I made the correct diagnosis on Bush:

Bush is a sociopath, that is, a criminal.

Sociopaths

      1. Set fires

      2. Torture animals

      3. Lie

      4. Have no conscience

      5. Never do any useful work.

      6. Every civilized structure challenges their superiority. They will not submit! Everyone in authority offends them. ("How dare they!". See how he handled the James Baker report -- NOT Oedipal, simply triumph! I predicted his response. Easy with the correct diagnosis.)

      7. No treatment is helpful. They are totally a lost cause. It's a brain disorder. No dynamics apply. I have seen tens of them, and they're all the same. Parents knew they were different by age two.

Re Psychoanalyst describes Bush as
"paranoid megalomaniac," "untreated alcoholic"

Excerpt:  A new book by a prominent Washington psychoanalyst says President George W. Bush is a "paranoid megalomaniac" as well as a sadist and "untreated alcoholic." The doctor's analysis appears to confirm earlier reports the President may be emotionally unstable.

Dr. Justin Frank, writing in Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President, also says the President has a "lifelong streak of sadism, ranging from childhood pranks (using firecrackers to explode frogs) to insulting journalists, gloating over state executions ... [and] pumping his fist gleefully before the bombing of Baghdad."

Even worse, Dr. Frank concludes, the President's years of heavy drinking "may have affected his brain function -- and his decision to quit drinking without the help of a 12-step program [puts] him at far higher risk of relapse." ...Supporters of President Bush dismiss Frank’s book as the work of a Democrat who once headed the Washington Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility, but his work has been praised by other prominent psychiatrists, including Dr. James Grotstein, Professor at UCLA Medical Center, and Dr. Irvin Yalom, MD, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University Medical School. ...
Vonegutt makes this diagnosis:
PP, that is, Psychotic Personality. Folks who are intelligent, ingratiating, smooth, AND HAVE NO CONSCIENCE.
Linking Bush's behavior to father et al weakens our case. Psychobabble. Besides, it's wrong. Criminality is a brain problem, not a mind problem. Again, not Oedipal or any other fancy formulation. The diagnosis is on full display. We the People don't need psychiatrists, just our own smarts and common sense. We have eyes to see and ears to hear. Nothing more is needed. What we can do as psychiatrists is to call a spade a spade.

BUSH IS A CRIMINAL!

That We the People can understand, if drawn to our attention. Paul Krugman, Robert Scheer, Maureen Down come close to putting the diagnosis of "criminal" in print.

"Narcissistic" and "megalomania" and "paranoia" are all aspects of his criminal mind. These are secondary to his criminality.

Bush has never been happier than now. Everyone is against him, yet he retains absolute power. We're all helplessly standing by, and the Republicans are supreme enablers. The Supreme Godfather. He can hardly conceal his mirth and joy at every press conference. That's not paranoia or narcissism or megalomania. That's a triumphant criminal mind.

The Godfather stands alone! Superior to every aspect of civilization. With Bush, that includes the entire world!

What to do? I agree with [Dr Frank], the country is in grave danger. Impeachment won't fly. Out of 250 Republican senators and reps, only eight voted with the Democrats to merely set a timetable for exiting Iraq.

What about getting a joint statement from our former presidents -- Carter, George Herbert, and Clinton. "Don't widen the conflict in the Middle East." Or from two of them, at least.

Perhaps the military will not carry out his command to nuclear bomb Iran. Or wherever. Your idea is a good one. Perhaps the military will not obey Bush's criminal orders, as you suggest.

Has any criminal ever given up power voluntarily?

Please don't send attachments or other cr*p we don't want.

If you're trying to reach us but getting no reply, it's probably because you've sent us cr*p we don't want, so we're filtering your emails into the trash, unopened and unread.
