Get ready: Bush is
about to make another big mistake

by Leon Fisher, Unknown News

If the Bush cabal believes it can win a war with Iran exclusively from the air without resort to a ground invasion, they are deluding themselves. Despite the awesome destructive capabilities of modern air power, it cannot by
itself bring about victory over an enemy which is determined to fight on at all costs.

If during World War II the Allies had waited for the strategic bombing campaign to bring the Germans to surrender without a ground invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe, they would still be waiting. The bombing campaign in Vietnam, Rolling Thunder, despite dropping more munitions than all of WWII, failed to bring the enemy to its knees. The air offensive against Iraq in Gulf War I did not bring the Iraqis to throw in the towel until coalition land forces finally took to the offensive and began driving to the Euphrates.

It also must be pointed out that Coalition air power was unable to interdict the Iraqi Scud missile attacks on Saudi Arabia and Israel. A similar situation was encountered late in WWII, when Allied air power found itself unable to locate the mobile V-2 launchers which were bombarding London and Antwerp, and it was only after ground forces overran the areas from which the launchers were operating that the rocket attacks finally ended.

The rain of bombs which fell on the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the

Do Bush and his inner circle of Neo Con lunatics truly believe that an encore of "Shock and Awe" is going to cow a nation which sacrificed a million men to repel an Iraqi invasion during the 1980s?

Does the Bush cabal think there will be no retaliation against our forces in Iraq and our fleet in the Persian Gulf, against Israel, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia?
"Shock and Awe" campaign at the beginning of Gulf War II again by itself could not guarantee victory, with ground forces once again having to take and hold ground.

Does the Bush Regime think they can succeed when every air offensive in the past that was not supported by a ground invasion, or the threat of a ground invasion (Kosovo/ Serbia) has failed to bring surrender? Do Bush and his inner circle of Neo Con lunatics truly believe that an encore of "Shock and Awe" is going to cow a nation which sacrificed a million men to repel an Iraqi invasion during the 1980s? Does the Bush cabal think there will be no retaliation against our forces in Iraq and our fleet in the Persian Gulf, against Israel, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia?

Or perhaps the warmongers in Washington are planning on using the unspeakable to achieve their diabolical ends, the ultimate war crime, the use of thermonuclear weapons on a population of over a hundred million people.

I leave you with this thought: How are we to live with the deaths of tens of millions of souls on our hands, if indeed this comes to pass?
