Gullible? Uninformed? Nowhere to turn? by Kathy Fisher

American kids, dumber than dirt
Oh no you mean that bumper sticker all those parents have on their cars that says My kid is an honor student is all a lie. I thought I saw them given them out at Burger King!
* * *
I'm in the food store last week and I'm speaking to a young man who works there about something I can't find. One word leads into another until it's personal, and somehow I mention the stock market and the next thing I know we're talking about Iraq. He says "They can do want they the hell they want here at home, it can crash for all I care, in a month my ass is out of here and I'm going to Iraq."
I was speechless for a moment, then I just blurted out, "Why the fuck did you do something like that?" You know what this young man said right in a store to a total stranger? This extremely skinny kid with long hair came back with "I don't care I got nothing to live for any more."
Just hearing that blew my mind, and for fifteen minutes I played parent to this poor soul. I hope he heard me, because the more we talked the more it seemed to sink in, and he started to realize he made the decision in haste and for the wrong reasons. I have him in touch we a man that I pray can help him.
Jesus Christ! What's going on in this world today, when a recruiting agent can take advantage of a young man's home situation and capitalize on it for his own advancement!
Just imagine if this is true and this generation and the next is dumber than shit and POORER too, how easy it will be to get these gullible minds full of nothing (No Hope!) to enlist in the on coming endless wars for the empire.

| Unknown News is more fun and more informative with your participation, so please don't be shy. Consider yourself invited to speak your mind.
Because we respect peoples' privacy, we do not keep records of friends' and contributors' contact information. This means we can't forward private communications between readers and writers, but we always welcome dialogue for publication.
When we publish incoming emails, we usually edit out the sender's last name, email address, or anything else that would tend to uniquely identify the author (if we slip up, please let us know). But if your email is unambiguously intended only to annoy, insult, or threaten us, we'll publish all the details, and leave it on-line forever.
We're especially interested in hearing and considering different perspectives. All we ask is that you conduct yourself sanely and civilly. For the most productive dialogue, it helps if you'll cite a specific article or concept we've gotten wrong.
You can contact Helen & Harry at <newsuneed at yahoo.com>. If that address ever fails, our back-up email address is <unknownnews at inbox.com>.
But please, don't email us unless you're really and truly, honestly, actually trying to send the publishers of News a communication you're not sending to anyone or everyone else.
Please don't send attachments or other cr*p we don't want.
If you're trying to reach us but getting no reply, it's probably because you've sent us cr*p we don't want, so we're filtering your emails into the trash, unopened and unread.
If you'd like to have your email address unblocked, simply send a sincere apology (from an un-blocked email address).
