Democrats: A sackful of kittens on their way to the river
by Pavel C., Unknown News
November 12, 2007 |
If you saw Hillary Clinton at the recent debate answer in the affirmative and the negative about giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants in the space of about two minutes, then you saw a glimpse of truth about why our country is headed into the shitter.
Our leaders are not only incapable of speaking the truth in response to direct questions, but their thought processes are hopelessly muddled and confused. Years, and even decades

of practice in maintaining a public facade of blarney damage the politicians as much as the public. Their minds are pure mush. Puddinheads, as Mark Twain wrote.
You can find examples of this everywhere. First and
foremost in the Democratic Congress whose attempts to
change the course of the country resemble a burlap
sackful of kittens squirming during the trip to the
river. They are confused about everything: when to
act, when to speak, what to vote for, what to vote
against, who they represent... even what is
happening.
Their confusion is so great that in nearly
every instance, the ethical conflicts of taking money
from corporations and PACs and trying to not
infuriate the people who must vote for them produce a
sort of mental quicksand. They end up taking the
money, speaking a bunch of good-sounding words to the
public, and then voting with the herd. The instances
of courage and honor and duty fulfilled are so rare
that when we find a politician with these
characteristics we are mystified and distrustful --
like he is a horse doing differential calculus
problems, or a talking dog expounding on philosophy.
This is what happens when leadership is filtered through politics.
This is a very serious issue. At this moment, America
is on the brink of disaster, perhaps even beyond the
point of no return. We are at the Wile E. Coyote
moment: Over the cliff edge, suspended in air, just
discovering that we are standing on air, as Paul
Krugman recently put it.
You see this in the triumvirate of wisdom -- George W Bush,
Ben Bernanke, and Henry Paulson telling us every freaking day
that the economy is fine (may slow slightly), the
dollar is solid, and that America's economy is the
envy of the entire fucking world. That is what
Herbert Hoover said -- prosperity is just around the
corner!
It isn't that these men are entirely stupid (two out
of three ain't bad either), but that because of political concerns, they are
constitutionally incapable of addressing the truth. If Bernanke had
testified to Congress that the Fed cannot

|
single-handedly manage the economy, maintaining low
inflation and high employment if the Congress and
President are dunderheaded spendthrifts blowing
Titanic-sized holes in the Treasury every week, he
would be fired, or end up sleeping with the fishes.
It doesn't make any sense that somehow the Federal
Reserve can be given sole responsibility for
everything pertaining to the economy -- recession or
boom, inflation or deflation, jobs or no jobs -- when
their only tool is raising short term interest rates!
That's fucking crazy to even think, but that's what we're supposed to believe, and apparently the nutjobs
in Congress believe it, because you see them on TV
questioning Bernanke about the economy like he is the
Oracle of Delphi.
These people have lied to us -- and to themselves -- for so
long that they either fully believe their lies or
they are so confused that they have no mental machinery
left for going to the heart of a problem and finding
a solution.
In fact, the heart of most problems is
that the politicians are corrupt blunderers. I don't
know what motivates each individual in government
service, but the elected representatives we have now
are dangerously incompetent and ought to be removed
from office as soon as possible.
In the meantime,
plan on more disasters happening soon.

Here is the story about Hillary planting a phony
question at a Q&A. She is such a muddlehead that
answering spontaneous questions from real people is a
terrible threat to her campaign. I
hate to imagine
her as Leader of the Free World when six billion
people learn to hate her guts the way insightful
Americans do now ...

Muriel Gallo- Chasanoff, some of the questions
from the audience were planned in advance. "They were
canned," she said. Before the event began, a Clinton
staff member approached Gallo-Chasanoff to ask a
specific question after Clinton's speech. "One of the
senior staffers told me what [to ask]," she said. ...
Clinton called on Gallo-Chasanoff after her speech to
ask a question: what Clinton would do to stop the
effects of global warming. Clinton began her response
by noting that young people often pose this question
to her before delving into the benefits of her plan. |
