Clinton's politics of personal destruction

It sure looks like Hillary ran a clean campaign as long as she thought she had a lock. But then the Clintonian "Politics of Personal Destruction" -- aka "Divide and Conquer" -- were dusted off and aimed at Barack.

Between the Who You Gonna Call At 3 AM ad, and her disparagement of Barack in favor off McCain's and her own grandiose foreign policy experience, etc., etc., Clinton has severely damaged her own party for the general elections.

If she manages to get the nomination under these circumstances a lot of people will end up voting for McCain.
If she manages to get the nomination under these circumstances a lot of people will end up voting for McCain. And in fact, Keith Olbermann said tonight that Rush Limbaugh was advising Texan independents to vote for Hillary in the open primaries because she will be easier to beat in November. Which is true.

Unfortunately. Because America is at the tipping point right now. Bush has brought the financial system to the point of collapse! Bernanke's speech was televised this week and he advised bankers to forgive part of the principal on loans where the homeowners have zero equity. That indicates that we are like Wile E. Coyote right now -- over the edge, waiting to fall. Bankers don't generally give away billions of dollars -- we know they nickel and dime their own mothers, to say nothing of how they screw their customers.

And then there is the global situation, with wars all over the place and political instability in nuclear armed countries -- and oil over $100 a barrel.

Which is why we need Barack Obama right now. He may represent some unknowns, but he is the only remaining hope we have. I wanted Edwards. Barack was my #2...

Sadly, John Edwards is AWOL. He has not come out endorsing Obama. Where is he? What is he waiting for? Is he hoping to be VP? ( -- Or, more likely, to end up running for VP and losing to the Repubs again...)

Too bad about John. We counted on him and he disappeared off the face of the Earth right when we needed him.

Oh well. So it goes...

Mariah G.

"Help me, Obi-Wan Obama, you're our only hope!" Barack Obama was about my seventh choice out of the announced candidates. He's a milquetoast moderate Republican who gives a good speech -- but he is an absolute Gandhi compared to Hillary Clinton or John McCain.

Time is short, the Constitution is in shambles, the dollar ain't worth a dime, we're fighting bloody wars for nothing, and America's so-called beacon of liberty has flickered out. If the Democrats or the fraud- and media-impaired electorate chooses anyone but Obama, it will be time to seriously reconsider whether there's any point to remaining involved in America's pretend-political process.

Unknown News is more fun and more informative with your participation, so please don't be shy. Consider yourself invited to speak your mind.

Because we respect peoples' privacy, we do not keep records of friends' and contributors' contact information. This means we can't forward private communications between readers and writers, but we always welcome dialogue for publication.

When we publish incoming emails, we usually edit out the sender's last name, email address, or anything else that would tend to uniquely identify the author (if we slip up, please let us know). But if your email is unambiguously intended only to annoy, insult, or threaten us, we'll publish all the details, and leave it on-line forever.

We're especially interested in hearing and considering different perspectives. All we ask is that you conduct yourself sanely and civilly. For the most productive dialogue, it helps if you'll cite a specific article or concept we've gotten wrong.

You can contact Helen & Harry at <newsuneed at yahoo.com>. If that address ever fails, our back-up email address is <unknownnews at inbox.com>.

But please, don't email us unless you're really and truly, honestly, actually trying to send the publishers of News a communication you're not sending to anyone or everyone else.

Please don't send attachments or other cr*p we don't want.

If you're trying to reach us but getting no reply, it's probably because you've sent us cr*p we don't want, so we're filtering your emails into the trash, unopened and unread.

If you'd like to have your email address unblocked, simply send a sincere apology (from an un-blocked email address).
