Middle East on hair-trigger alert by The Canadian
| Mar. 25, 2008 |
Once again the US has bungled their foreign policy initiative, which was to "divide and conquer" the Palestinian factions. It is one thing to be a World Power, it is quiet another to wield such power successfully. US policy achieved nothing but a delay to the commencement of the inevitable conflagration between Israel-Palestinian factions and Hez b'Allah in the coming weeks or months.

The big question is this: will Iran/Syria pull the trigger via their proxy army or will they simply use the threat of war to achieve a measure of protection to sustain their domestic political and nuclear agendas?

| It does not surprise me that Fatah and Hamas have chosen this time to set aside their difference and focus on their common enemy, Israel. They have been ordered to do so by their Keepers; Iran/Syria. As I have written before, all preparations to make war on Israel are complete. Israel, too, knows what is coming and this time they will not be so gentle.
Should the Israeli dogs of war be unleashed, nothing will remain standing before their advance. Israelis will pay a hard price, but not as hard a price as the Palestinians and Lebanese.
Hez b'Allah will exact its revenge for Mugniya's death, but the scale of retribution is unknown.

One clear sign of a coming Israeli invasion will be the withdrawal of the UN Euro Forces (mostly French, German, Italian) currently separating Hez b'Allah and Israeli at the Litani S Lebanon. At this point, however, nothing is certain as their are too many fingers on too many triggers and events can easily spiral out of control as they did in 2006.
Is it coincidence that Cheney visits Israel and Palestine one day after the Muslim 40 day period of mourning for Mugniyeh, and that Fatah and Hamas announce a Peace accord on the same day? Syria has also completed its "investigation" of Mugniyeh's death yesterday and concluded 100% that Israel did it (gee ... really! Was there ever any doubt as to who Syria would blame?). Two days ago France and Germany openly threatened Iran's nuclear ambitions within the context of their own nuclear reprisal ability. US warships (Missile frigates) moved closer to the Lebanese Coast a week or so ago.

I always get the impression you know what you're talking about, and when it comes to the Middle East I really don't. So half of me wants to disagree, but what the hell do I know? It's like arguing with my grandmother about the Depression -- I've read about it, but she was there.

You give me too much credit.
Since my last email:| | • Scty Rice is making an emergency trip to the Middle East to meet with Israeli and
Palestinian powers on March 28.
• Syria has moved three divisions to the Lebanese border (with heavy armor).
• Thousands of Palestinian fighters have left Syrian camps and moved into the
Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.
• Every single Israeli ambulance in every city is on stand-by.
• All Israeli bomb shelters are ready.
• Israel has 2 rapid deployment teams on stand-by to go anywhere in the world
in support of its interests (read: respond to terrorist attacks).
• Al Qaeda's # 2 has ordered Muslims everywhere to attack Jews and Americans
(because they support the "Zionists") as punishment for attacks on Gaza
(this follows Bin Laden's previous announcement to Europe) |
The upcoming Arab league summit scheduled for March 28-29 in Damascus has
been snubbed by the President of Egypt and the King of Saudi Arabia.
Gen Patreus is directly blaming Iran for the spike of violence this past
week in Iraq
Israel is on "hair-trigger" alert.
