... the absurd notes we receive
          (and we receive them often),
          telling me the Bilderbergs rule
          the world ...

That one almost slipped by me. You mean that you don't think that the Bilderbergers and their ilk, the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, Skull and Bones and such, rule the world? I am astonished.

It is not so much that I don't believe these stories, it is that I consider them essentially irrelevant, and therefore I care little about them. How is a world nurturing of forced

dependency on tyranny not to be ruled, at least it is in the minds of these self styled "rulers," by tyrants, how is it not going to reflect this dynamic? To me these various groups of self-styled superior types are just the jetsam and flotsam of history thrown off by the system of coercive authority seeking ever more vertical hierarchies. That's why I pay minimum attention to them.

Just think about it. If coercive power is considered the most powerful of mind-altering substances then of course some will succeed in concentrating their dose more and more until power is in the hands of the few most ruthless and most fortunate while the rest become hostage to fate.

The Rockefellers and the Bushes, the Nixons and the Kissingers, the sultans and dictators are all just bit players to me. They are the walk-on background extras that have to be there for the plot line to evolve. Plot is more important than the elements of the story after all. Elements and no plot, no story.

There's no point in putting on a show if you don't have an audience, and lordy, we the people have been such a complacent audience for the Rockefellers and Bushes, Nixons and Kissingers and their peers. An audience willing to be sit back and watch the show, to be suckered for all their lives... for decades... for generations...

Rich, powerful people are putting on a show for us, paying the scriptwriters and advancing the plot-lines for the Cheneys, Bushes, and other actors on the world stage.

I don't advocate walking out on the show, as many millions have done, refusing to pay attention to politics. It's important to "watch the show," to keep an eye on events and try to understand what's happening. But it's very, very important to understand that it's a show. And it's our moral obligation to do what we can to disrupt the performance, by chatting up other members of the audience, pointing out holes in the plot-lines, hollering or tossing pies at the people on the stage.

Helen & Harry

I suspect you have chosen the wrong frame here. As I have heard Maya Angelou, and others, explain "the show" is all about smoke and mirrors, distraction and illusion. I suspect that most of the "millions" you are referring to have not walked out but rather have just gone soundly asleep, passed from the trance state to frank slumber. When one wakes up fully from the trance inducing effects of "the show," it is not so much that one feels compelled to "walk out" on "the show," the theater itself is all of life in this metaphor, after all, but rather that when one wakes up from the mesmerization that grips most of the rest of the audience, one feels compelled to refocus one's attention on the people sitting in the other seats.

The real "show" is in the seats. The real object of the unreal show is to maintain this state of unconsciousness so that agents of the "the show" can circulate freely amongst the audience and do what they want with them, which is primarily to pick their pockets. Certainly there is a role for people in the audience to be calling attention to the crimes and deceptions that are going on around the hypnotized audience, that is essentially the role of the real journalist in society (as opposed to the actors that play journalist on TV), but the ultimate struggle is to awaken the audience before the criminals set the theater on fire.

An awakened audience will immediately tire of all the phoniness and put on a show of their own. This has happened repeatedly over the course of the history of civilization. The original moves of ordinary people in British Colonial America mark such a moment, though its time was brief. My favorite such moment was the rising of the Paris Commune, and even briefer moment of awakening that was very brutally crushed.

As an example of how "the news" can be a source of entertainment even for the somewhat awake, I always experience a little smile when I think of the absurd naming of things by "the show." My current favorite term of propaganda is "Awakening Council" as applied to those Sunni insurgent groups that are now being paid by the US military to resist the US military under the guise of combating an illusory "Al Qaeda." It would be as if the British had paid the Minute Men a regular salary to periodically march in the town square.

I am supposing that the resistance fighters of the Awakening Councils, being actually awake and not taken in by the US Military propaganda, which is meant mostly for the folks back home after all, have a few chuckles about this as well.

It is possible to have a limitless variety of theories and explanations for the facts, diversity in thought is a good thing, but to count amongst the "facts" the illusions of "the show" is to mark one's self as part of the sleeping audience and unqualified to be either a journalist or a responsible citizen.

Words from a sane general: From the testimony for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, 18 January 2007, by Lieutenant General Wm. E. Odom -pdf-

"To date, I have seen no awareness that any political leader in this country has gone beyond tactical proposals to offer a different strategic approach to limiting the damage in a war that is turning out to be the greatest strategic disaster in our history."

There were German generals who had similar opinions about Hitler's war plans, but they got themselves shot. I take a note of encouragement that Odom still lives, although he has been politically assassinated by being excluded from the mass media.

One of the scenarios of salvation that I like to fantasize about is that Odom and the many other flag officers will convince the mass of junior officers to stage a coup and reestablish a constitutional democracy in the US. They did take a solemn oath to uphold the Constitution and protect it from all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC.
