Two rocks out of the ground
Re Not allowed to have a different opinion
Mrs. Collier,
I, too, wanted Hillary to be the one. I want so badly for things to change for women in my lifetime. If men continue to (by policy and practice) to claim that men are better and women agree with them, I won't see the change I work and strive and pray for before I die.
On this website I have contended that no woman will ever, EVER be good enough to be taken seriously as a candidate. A man of 60 is revered as wise and father-like, but a woman of 60 is discarded by people as worthless. A man

I realize now that a female candidate will always be too young or too old, too tall or too short, not pretty enough or too pretty.
Men continue to visit all of their fear and insecurity onto women's bodies.
We continually receive the message that a woman is incomplete without a man. |

| who demonstrates manly (Maverick) traits is celebrated, but a woman who doesn't cry is heartless, one who does cry is a wuss. The social structure is designed by religion, employment practices, tax laws, and education to send the message loud and clear that male traits are desirable and female traits are not. Of course Hillary has lied, she is a politician. We can't find fault with Obama because he has been politics for 10 minutes.
I grieve with you. I realize now that a female candidate will always be too young or too old, too tall or too short, not pretty enough or too pretty. Men continue to visit all of their fear and insecurity onto women's bodies. We continually receive the message that a woman is incomplete without a man. My life was better, personally and professionally, when the Clintons were in the White House. (I am an environmental scientist.)
We, as a species, pulled two rocks out of the ground. One was coal, one was gold. And then we assigned value to each. The different values are internationally accepted. We have two genders. And value is placed on each from childhood on. Little boys and girls need to see a woman in the White House to break this country's backward notions about gender and politics. And women need to celebrate being female and stop apologizing for it. Stop perpetuating the lie. Women are over 50% of the population and more than half of American households are headed by women. Where is the representation? Representative government my hiney! At least with a woman in the White House we wouldn't be distracted by a stupid sex scandal taking focus off of the issues.
P.S. Speaking of stopping lies, I will vote Democrat regardless of the outcome of the
primaries.
Really?

Because we respect peoples' privacy, we do not keep records of friends' and contributors' contact information. This means we can't forward private communications between readers and writers, but we always welcome dialogue for publication.
When we publish incoming emails, we usually edit out the sender's last name, email address, or anything else that would tend to uniquely identify the author (if we slip up, please let us know). But if your email is unambiguously intended only to annoy, insult, or threaten us, we'll publish all the details, and leave it on-line forever.
We're especially interested in hearing and considering different perspectives. All we ask is that you conduct yourself sanely and civilly. For the most productive dialogue, it helps if you'll cite a specific article or concept we've gotten wrong.
You can contact Helen & Harry at <newsuneed at yahoo.com>. If that address ever fails, our back-up email address is <unknownnews at inbox.com>.
But please, don't email us unless you're really and truly, honestly, actually trying to send the publishers of News a communication you're not sending to anyone or everyone else.
Please don't send attachments or other cr*p we don't want.
If you're trying to reach us but getting no reply, it's probably because you've sent us cr*p we don't want, so we're filtering your emails into the trash, unopened and unread.
If you'd like to have your email address unblocked, simply send a sincere apology (from an un-blocked email address).
