How dare you criticize General Petraeus
I landed on this page at your website, where you refer to General David Petraeus as "Warmonger Petraeus" -- this is your vision of fair and balanced coverage? He's a warmonger in the sense that he's a military General so making war is his job, but my impression is that he's very good at his job.
Our nation is at war, and I can't see any reason that anyone who cares about American victory would criticize the commanding officer on the battle front. It smacks of treason, and I respectfully suggest that you reconsider your mocking attitude.

I assure you, we're not "mocking" Gen Petraeus. We're simply and unambiguously accusing him of betraying his nation. He should be fired and face trial.
I cannot speak to his expertise as a military commander except to note the obvious, that he's been in charge of the American occupation of Iraq as that quagmire has deepened, as more and more Americans and Iraqis are being killed for nothing. But it's essentially inarguable that when Gen Petraeus addresses the media, which he does daily, he's simply another Bush administration mouthpiece, and much of what he says is just plain false. His ongoing statements that Iran is behind all the chaos in Iran remain unsubstantiated and almost certainly untrue, and his perjury before Congress, generally stating that things are going 'better' in Iraq, and that at some point with X months troop withdrawals will be possible, is contrasted by virtually every non-propaganda report out of Iraq.
When a military commander lies to the public, and those lies imperil the lives of American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines, that is a high crime indeed. That is the daily work of Gen David Petraeus, and that, dear stranger, is what "smacks of treason".

| Unknown News is more fun and more informative with your participation, so please don't be shy. Consider yourself invited to speak your mind.
Because we respect peoples' privacy, we do not keep records of friends' and contributors' contact information. This means we can't forward private communications between readers and writers, but we always welcome dialogue for publication.
When we publish incoming emails, we usually edit out the sender's last name, email address, or anything else that would tend to uniquely identify the author (if we slip up, please let us know). But if your email is unambiguously intended only to annoy, insult, or threaten us, we'll publish all the details, and leave it on-line forever.
We're especially interested in hearing and considering different perspectives. All we ask is that you conduct yourself sanely and civilly. For the most productive dialogue, it helps if you'll cite a specific article or concept we've gotten wrong.
You can contact Helen & Harry at <newsuneed at yahoo.com>. If that address ever fails, our back-up email address is <unknownnews at inbox.com>.
But please, don't email us unless you're really and truly, honestly, actually trying to send the publishers of News a communication you're not sending to anyone or everyone else.
Please don't send attachments or other cr*p we don't want.
If you're trying to reach us but getting no reply, it's probably because you've sent us cr*p we don't want, so we're filtering your emails into the trash, unopened and unread.
If you'd like to have your email address unblocked, simply send a sincere apology (from an un-blocked email address).
