Smaller and more local is always better
than bigger and more universal

A few basic thoughts on politics and crime: The use of reliable currency allows for larger markets and greater profits. Not a bad thing necessarily (unless you follow the lead of Anarchist Primitivist). The down side is that reliable money creates greater opportunities for crime, and encourages people to adopt criminal outlooks and lifestyles.

Crime does pay. If society fails to suppress crime, criminals have a marked competitive advantage in the "marketplace",
and eventually criminals will come to control all markets, black, white and grey.

When criminals control markets they also gain control of governments. In this final stage of criminality (some would say the final stage of capitalism) a society can no longer function to
provide for the basic needs of popu-
lations, and uncontrollable destructive process are set in place that will destroy that society. The monolithic history of collapse of complex societies confirms this analysis.

When markets are global, individual national governments surrender sovereignty to these markets — and to

the criminals who control them. The advent of truly global markets therefore condemns the globe to the same processes of decay and destruction by criminality that have traditionally destroyed individual societies down through history.

There is no way to effectively control crime that is organized on a global basis. A one-world government with a one-world effort to suppress crime is even more susceptible to criminal subversion than old-fashioned national governments. Therefore, if we tolerate globalization, we commit to global catastrophe.

Local control and national sovereignty obviously does not guarantee freedom from control by criminal elements, but at least it offers the hope of containing and limiting such control in a way that offers a chance of being able to construct just societies.
