Getting over it
by Sherri B., Unknown News August 19, 2008
As I watch, read, and listen to the gloom and doom of America's final trip down the toilet of global imperialism, I feel nothing. I used to feel angry and I used to feel scared. From the 100 years war and Byzantine Empire and the Ming Dynasty and the mad rush of the Turks to Vietnam the Balkan situation the horrors between India and Pakistan and the everlasting distress of the African continent, on and on it goes, everyone panicking and saving or starving and dying, or partying and not caring one bit.
I've come to realize that war is and strife is a part of the circle of life. Does it have to be? No. Could we solve our differences? I'd love to think so. As long as the hunger for power and wealth
abides in human hearts around the world the madness will continue. Perhaps our great-grandchildren will have much more sense than their elders and learn to live in peace. As it stands now it won't be happening.
There is talk of China taking over the world, or a few countries banding together with the intentions of burning America to the ground. That may be so and it just may happen. So my thoughts on the possibilities about the future of America are:| | • To show love to my family and friends every day. |
|
|
| | • To help where I am needed. • To show compassion when I can. • To live without fear of "them". • To be grateful for every bite of food, every bit of fun, and every smile I see. • To live as peacefully as I can. • To kick ass when it's necessary. • To die knowing that I did what I could. |
I'm all right with that. I'm over the drama of the "end as we know it."
The wheel always turns. Check your world history books. One day we'll be but a dot on a timeline. You might as well enjoy it while you can.
