Excerpt: The prototype capsule cost the Air Force $2.7 million, and the two subsequent ones should come in around $1.9 million each, Paoli said. He said the newer capsules fit into more airframes, including Air Force C-17s, C-130s and KC-10s.

you catch Fanny and Freddie Mac are going to be offering stock? seems like a no brainier if it starts low, how can you go wrong if the gov. bales them out before they go under.
As long as our minds are considered the private property of those with the money and incentive to construct false realities using mass media for their private benefit, elections have no meaning.
Concepts of freedom and liberty, similarly, have no tangible reality without access to an accurate understanding of events.

Thanks Chris for freaking out with me. You said very well what I was thinking.
This affects married people too. Well, those who want to control the number of children they have.
These "moral" advocates are the ones we hear about time and again being caught with prostitutes. Are they trying to get the hooker pregnant? NO! This is about power. All of what this administration has done has been about power.
And just think, 51% of the population is women. So they propose to legislate against over half the population to remove progress made in the last 40 years. If they were actively trying to reverse progress made by ethnic groups, the country would be on fire. Women are people too, citizens, tax payers, workers, parents, but they are less than 11% of the representative government.
Anyone who is female, or any man who has a mother, sister, daughter or female friend, should be furious and appalled. This is an outright attempt to re-enslave a specific group of people. Muslims have female slaves, not us. We are better than this.

Excerpt: Men and women show differences in behavior because their brains are physically distinct organs, new research suggests. Male and female brains appear to be constructed from markedly different genetic blueprints.
The differences in the circuitry that wires them up and the chemicals that transmit messages inside them are so great as to point to the conclusion that there is not just one kind of human brain, but two, according to recent neurological studies.
And if the results of our male dominated society are any indication, women's brains are infinitely superior.
Excerpt: “The concept that the Treasury put forward is what we are working toward,” Mr Shelby, the top Republican on the Senate banking committee, told the Financial Times in an interview. “I think it will move down [to the White House] before the break at the end of the month.”
In an extraordinary move aimed at stabilizing financial markets last Sunday, the Treasury asked Congress for unlimited authority to increase its credit line to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and invest in their equity.
This is the worst possible move they could make. There really are only two alternatives that make any sense at all. Either let them fail completely or nationalize them, which is what they were originally.
Excerpt: Mr Shelby is one of several Republicans to have expressed concerns this week about the danger that taxpayers could be stuck with large losses in the event of a government investment in the two giant mortgage companies.
Which is exactly what would happen. With an open ended credit line, there is no incentive or motivation for them or the other financial institutions to clean up their act.
Washington also needs to re-institute the federal laws against usury. The ones that outlawed predatory lending practices otherwise known as bunko or fraud. Used to be people engaging in such practices would be jailed, tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.
Excerpt: The report made it clear that there will be no early resolution to the global financial crisis.
"The financial shock that erupted in August 2007, as the US sub-prime mortgage market was derailed by the reversal of the housing boom, has spread quickly and unpredictably to inflict extensive damage on markets and institutions at the heart of the financial system," it said.
After warning earlier this week that the world's financial firms could end up shouldering $1 trillion (£500bn) worth of losses from the credit crunch, the IMF said it expects the US to achieve GDP growth of just 0.5% this year, and 0.6% in 2009, with the housing crash getting even worse.
Actually I have heard worse and not from the "sky is falling" crowd, who I generally ignore, but from well know economists. Like William Greider, who
appeared on Bill Moyers this Friday.
And the thing that really frosts me is that these bank bailouts that Washington is so eager to enact are designed only to save the fat cat investors who put their money into these dicey cons to get fatter. I say fuck um! If they lose everything ... too damn bad.
If I could find a link to the worlds smallest violin, I would include that too.

Anything sent to Unknown News may be published. If you don't want
it published, say so plainly. Of course, we publish all incoming hate mail.
Because we respect peoples' privacy, we do not keep records of friends' and contributors' contact information. This means we can't forward private communications between readers and writers, but we always welcome dialogue for publication.
We're especially interested in hearing and considering different perspectives. All we ask is that you conduct yourself sanely and civilly. For the most productive dialogue, it helps if you'll cite a specific article or concept we've gotten wrong.
But please, don't email us unless you're really and truly, honestly, actually trying to send a communication you're not sending to anyone or everyone else.
When we publish incoming emails, we usually edit out the sender's last name, email address, or anything else that would tend to uniquely identify the author (if we slip up, please let us know). But if your email is unambiguously intended only to annoy, insult, or threaten us, we'll publish all the details, and leave it on-line forever.
If you're trying to reach us but getting no reply, it's probably because you've sent us cr*p we don't want, so we're filtering your emails into the trash, unopened and unread.
If you'd like to have your email address unblocked, simply send a sincere apology (from an un-blocked email address).
